Automated Detection of Dirt & Sparkle in Digital Film
نویسندگان
چکیده
Filming is an analogue process; it requires a mechanical process to record and view, and the source material itself is prone to decay & abrasion [1]. Film is expensive to store, and prohibitively expensive to restore. It is important to note that these problems do not just affect ‘old’ movies; aside from the minority of films that have made use of digital cinema cameras, all previous & most current films may be affected.

Detection and removal of anomalies in digitized animation film
In this article, the problem of detecting and removing on the development of practical and efficient algorithms to be anomalies in digitized animation film is addressed. The impetus of incorporated directly into the animation production system. this article comes from the motion picture industry, where several There has been a good amount of work in the literature dealing studios are rereleasin...
متن کاملAnti-Sparkle Film Distinctness of Image Characterization
The amount of sparkle associated with automotive anti-glare display surfaces is generally worsened with increasing display resolutions. One sparkle countermeasure recently introduced by 3M is the use of an anti-sparkle optically clear adhesive (OCA). The distinctness of image (DOI) properties of the 3M anti-sparkle OCA are further investigated.
متن کاملNon-motion-compensated region-based dirt detection for film archive restoration
Theodore Vlachos University of Surrey Center for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing Guildford, GU2 7XH, United Kingdom Abstract. A novel non-motion-compensated method is proposed for dirt detection in archived film sequences. A confidence measurement extracted from raw differences between current frame and each of the previous and next frames is used to exploit the temporally impulsive nature...
متن کاملIn vitro Comparison of Conventional Film and Direct Digital Radiography in Proximal Caries Detection
Introduction: Various systems for intraoral digital radiography have been available as an alternative to film–based radiography. In consideration of several advantages of digital radiography such as less patient absorbed dose, manipulation of image quality and elimination of processing, it has been extensively used in different fields of dentistry in recent years. The purpose of this study wa...
متن کاملAutomatic Restoration Algorithms for 35mm film
Classical film restoration is based on special copying machines to improve the quality of safekeeping copies. Only a small class of defects can be removed by such a process, because the unit of manipulation is always the physical film strip. With help of digital image processing techniques the restoration process can be adapted for each frame or even pixel and also for many kinds of defects. Th...
